Deion Visits Home of the Innocents
July 9, 2007: Louisville, KY
On Deion Branch's recent visit to
Louisville, Kentucky, he came "home" to visit his son Deiondre, who is a resident of Home of the Innocents' Kosair Charities Pediatric Center.
Kosair Charities Pediatric Center is a hospital-like and home away from home environment that provides 24-hour skilled nursing care for children who are dependent on technology to survive.
Shortly after birth, Deiondre was diagnosed with meningitis and nearly
died. Deion says, "The doctors told us that his disease had caused major
brain damage and he may never be able to walk, talk, or even smile. You
can imagine how devasting it was to hear those words. Deiondre wasn't
able to go home with his (twin) brother Deiontey, but he was able to
find a place that could give him the kind of medical attention and
therapy he needed. That place was Home of the Innocents."
Upon Deion's recent visit to Home of the Innocents, Deion presented a
check of $15,000 from the Deion Branch Charitable Foundation, which
provides funding to organizations like the Home that offers care to
children with meningitis. These funds will benefit Deiondre and the
other children at The Home.

children, and hundreds are in The Home's care on any given day. For many
of these children, The Home is where hope begins.
Home of the Innocents relies on the generosity of individuals to support
the Home so that they may continue to provide loving and therapeutic
